Sri Lanka Green Pigeon/ශ්රී ලංකා බටගොයා/පිට දම් බටගොයා (Treron pompadora)
Rather common endemic bird lives in forests and well wooded cultivations and home gardens from lowlands to lower hills, while local and uncommon up to mid hills. It lives as small or large flocks and sometimes as pairs. Sri Lanka Green Pigeon feeds mainly on fruits and fruiting tree may attracts the birds from miles around. The breeding season is from December to June and and sometimes also from August to September. The nest is a nearly flat platform of small twigs placed in a small bushy tree, where it lays two eggs and both sexes incubate them.

Sri Lanka Clouded Silverline (Spindasis nubilus)
An endemic and very rare butterfly recently reported from only three locations (Chundikulam and Iranaimadu of Northern Province and Anavilundawa Wetlands Ramsar site of Northwestern Province.) Historically it was recorded from the scrubs and open areas of the northern dry zone (Elephant Pass, Jaffna, Iranaimadu, Murunkan and Mannar.) No information available on its early stages of the life cycle or of the larval food plant.

Knuckles Corrugated Water Frog/දුම්බර වක රැලි දිය මැඩියා (Lankanectes pera)
An endemic and critically endangered frog restricted to the clear, shallow and slow flowing streams with sand and rock-strewn substrates in closed canopy sub montane and montane forests of the Knuckles range (Above 1100 m elevations in Dothalugala, Bambarella, Knuckles Peaks and Riveston areas) . Males can be found under rocks or rock-crevices in flowing water. Tadpoles of this frog occurs in deeper regions of the stream where decaying vegetation gathers. Nocturnal.

මෙරටට ආවේනික සුලභ පක්ෂියෙකි. දිවයින පුරාම පාහේ වනාන්තර වල විවෘත ස්ථාන, වගා බිම්, කුඹුරු සහ ලඳු කැලෑ වල දැකිය හැක. බොහෝවිට ජෝඩු වශයෙන් හමුවන අතර ඇතැම් විට කුඩා රංචු ලෙසින්ද හැසිරේ. බොහෝවිට පොළොවට ආසන්නව පියාඹමින් ඉගිලෙන කෘමින් ගුවනේදී ගොදුරු කර ගනී. ගල් ගුහාවක වහලයේ, පාලමක් යට හෝ ඇතැම් විට ගොඩනැගිල්ලක හෝ නිවසක වහලයේ යට මඩ වලින් බෝතලයක හැඩය සහිත කූඩුවක් සාදා අප්රියල් සිට ජූලි දක්වා කාලයේ බිත්තර දෙකක් හෝ තුනක් දමා අභිජනනය කරයි.

ප්රධාන වශයෙන් පහත රට වියලි කලාපයේ සහ ස්ථානීය වශයෙන් ඇතැම් පහත රට තෙත් කලාපයේ සිට කඳුකරයේ මධ්යම උස මට්ටම් ප්රදේශ දක්වා හමුවන මෙරටට ආවේනික සුලභ පක්ෂියෙකි. ජෝඩු ලෙසින් හෝ කුඩා රංචු ලෙසින් වනාන්තර, අතරින් පතර උස ගස් සහිත ලඳු කැලෑ වල මෙන්ම හොඳින් ගහකොළ සහිත ගෙවතු වලද දැකිය හැක. උඩු වියනේ සැරිසරන කෘමින් ශ්රී ලංකා වනසැරටිත්තාගේ ප්රධාන ආහාරය වේ. පෙබරවාරි සිට ජූනි දක්වා කාලයේ ගහක අත්තක් හෝ දෙබලක් මත නොගැඹුරු කූඩුවක් තනා (ඉහත වම පස ඡායාරූපය) එහි බිත්තර දෙකක් හෝ තුනක් පමණ දමා අභිජනනය කරයි.

Lesser Sri Lanka Flameback/Red-backed Woodpecker/කෑරලා (Dinopium psarodes)
An endemic and very common bird inhabiting forests, cultivations and home gardens of lowlands and hills in all zones except the northern part of the country. It lives as pairs and feeds on ants and such other insects found inside tree barks and occasionally on ground. It breeds from March to June and again from August to September in a nest excavated into the branch or the trunk of a tree.

Sri Lanka Golden-backed Frog/රන්වන් දිය මැඩියා (Indosylvirana serendipi)
An endemic frog inhabiting stream banks, coastal marshy areas, lowland rain forests and plantations of the wet zone from sea level to about 1000 m elevations. Often found on rocks, low vegetation and leaf litter close to water sources. Diurnal activities can be observed in rain forest areas though mostly active during the night.

මධ්යම කඳුකරයේ මුහුදු මටටමේ සිට මීටර් 1500 ත් 2200 ත් අතර උසින් යුත් කලාපයේ නුවරඑලිය, මහඑලිය (හොර්ටන් තැන්න), ශ්රිපාද අඩවිය වැනි ප්රදේශ වල ස්වභාවික වනාන්තර, වගා බිම් සහ ගෙවතු වල හමුවන මෙරටට ආවේනික කටුස්සෙකි. එසේම භූගෝලීය වශයෙන් හුදකලා වූ ගහණයක් බදුල්ල දිස්ත්රික්කයේ නමුණුකුල කන්ද ආශ්රීතවද ඉතාමත් කුඩා ප්රදේශයකට සීමා වී හමුවේ. බොහෝවිට ගස් කඳන් මත දිවිගෙවන මුත් භෞමිකවද සැරිසරන අං කටුස්සන් දැක ගත හැක. කෘමින් සහ දලඹුවන් ආහාරයට ගන්නා අං කටුස්සන් භූමියේ සැරිසරන විට ගැඩවිලුන්ද ගොදුරු කර ගනී. ගස් කඳන් මත සිට පොළොව මතට ගමන් කරන අවස්ථාවේදී සිය ශරීර වර්ණය හරිත පැහැයේ සිට දුඹුරු පැහැය දක්වා ක්ෂණිකව වෙනස් කර ගැනීමේ හැකියාව අං කටුස්සාට තිබේ.
